Fencing & Gate Centre is looking for a hands-on Branch Manager to lead our Canberra branch during a 12-month maternity leave period.
This role suits someone who enjoys working with customers, building sales and keeping a busy branch running smoothly. You’ll lead a small team and be actively involved in daily sales, stock management and customer service.
There is potential for ongoing full-time employment following the contract, subject to business needs and available opportunities.
About the role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing daily branch sales and operations.
- Building relationships with new and existing customers to grow the business.
- Preparing quotes, following up enquiries and converting opportunities into sales.
- Helping customers select suitable fencing materials and gate products.
- Ordering stock and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- Coordinating customer orders, deliveries and collections.
- Training and supporting staff to develop their product knowledge and customer service skills.
- Resolving customer enquiries and keeping orders on track.
- Maintaining a safe, organised and well-presented branch.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is approachable, dependable and confident taking responsibility for a small team.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in branch management, sales management or a supervisory role.
- Solid customer service, communication and sales skills.
- Good organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience with stock control, purchasing and order management.
- A practical approach to solving problems and a willingness to help wherever needed.
Experience with fencing materials, steel, metalwork, powder coating or landscaping would be an advantage.
