Are you passionate about diving and love sharing the underwater world with others? We’re looking for a PADI certified Dive Instructor fluent in Japanese to join our team and provide unforgettable diving experiences to our growing Japanese clientele.
About the role
Based in Cairns, Great Adventures is part of the multi-awarded Quicksilver Group and operates a wide range of ecotourism-based cruises to the Great Barrier Reef including Great Adventures Reef and Green Island Cruises, Silverswift Dive and Snorkel Adventures, and Ocean Spirit.
As a Dive Instructor, you will play an important role in delivering safe, professional and memorable diving experiences for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead scuba dives in accordance with PADI international safety standards
- Conduct briefings, dive planning, and in-water tours and informative reef presentations
- Provide excellent customer service and safety-focused guidance
- Assist with gear preparation, equipment maintenance, and daily dive operations
- Promote marine conservation and responsible tourism practices
Required Qualifications and Experience
- PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor qualification
- Fluent in Japanese and English
- Current First Aid, CPR and oxygen provider qualifications
- Current Dive Medical and Dive Insurance
- Relevant commercial diving experience, preferably within a tourism operation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine commitment to safety and following operational procedures
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A professional and positive approach to guest service
- The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in changing operational conditions
