About the Role
We’re looking for motivated Empty Container Handlers / Forklift Operators to join our team at Forrestfield.
These are permanent, full-time roles working within a busy, high-volume intermodal terminal environment. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, stacking and handling of empty containers, while supporting both rail and truck operations.
Previous forklift experience is highly regarded. However, we are also open to trainees who hold the required forklift licence and are keen to learn and develop their skills in container operations.
Our depot operates 5am to 12am with rostered weekends, requiring dedication to a structured schedule and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
You will need the ability to:
- Safely operate forklifts to move and stack empty containers.
- Carry out container movements accurately and efficiently in a busy terminal environment.
- Keep accurate digital records using iPads and our operating systems.
- Work both independently and as part of a cohesive crew to meet shift requirements.
- Follow terminal procedures and maintain a strong focus on safety.
- Learn and adapt as terminal operations and equipment requirements evolve.
What You Will Bring
- A valid LF Forklift Licence.
- Previous forklift operating experience is preferred, although trainees are encouraged to apply.
- Container, transport, logistics or heavy industrial experience will be highly regarded.
- Basic computer skills for recording container movements.
- Reliability and flexibility to work within a structured roster, including weekends.
- Your own reliable transport to and from the Forrestfield terminal.
- A safety-focused attitude and willingness to learn.
