About the role

As the Family Safety Contact Worker, you will provide specialised support to women and children impacted by domestic and family violence. Working within a Partner Contact Model, you will ensure their safety, wellbeing, and voices remain central to men’s behaviour change work. You will maintain regular contact with current and former partners of program participants, providing safety planning, advocacy, and connection to services. This role works closely with Wurliwurlijang Health Service to support a coordinated, community-based response across Katherine and surrounding communities.

What you’ll do





· Provide trauma-informed support to women and children impacted by domestic and family violence · Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans

· Maintain regular, supportive contact with partners of program participants

· Advocate and connect clients with housing, legal, health and support services

· Work collaboratively with Wurliwurlijang and other local services

· Contribute to a coordinated response that prioritises safety and accountability

About you

· Experience supporting women and families impacted by domestic and family violence · Solid understanding of the gendered nature of violence

· Skilled in risk assessment, safety planning and client engagement

· Ability to work in culturally safe ways with Aboriginal communities

· Confident working both independently and as part of a team

Requirements

· Relevant qualification (Social Work, Community Services or similar) (desirable) · Ochre Card, Police Check & Driver’s Licence
