This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, learning new things and helping customers bring their projects to life. Whether you’re an experienced paint professional or keen to build your knowledge in paint, decorating and DIY, we’d love to hear from you!

About the Role

You’ll be helping our retail and trade customers find the right paints, colours and products for their projects, all while delivering outstanding service and keeping our paint department looking its best. Every day brings something different, from colour advice and paint tinting to helping tradies find the right products and creating eye-catching displays that inspire our customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Helping retail and trade customers choose the right paints, colours, finishes and accessories.
- Driving sales across the department, including preparation products, paints and painting accessories.
- Sharing product knowledge and practical advice on colours, finishes and application.
- Mixing and tinting paint accurately to achieve the perfect match.
- Processing sales and operating the point-of-sale system.
- Keeping the department clean, organised, well stocked and ready for customers.
- Ordering, receiving and replenishing stock.
- Creating attractive merchandising displays and supporting in-store promotions.




- Building positive relationships with customers, tradies, suppliers and the wider Mitre 10 team.

About You

You’re a positive, reliable and enthusiastic person who enjoys helping others and takes pride in delivering great customer service.

You’ll ideally bring

- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A friendly, approachable attitude and a well-presented appearance.
- A genuine enjoyment of working with people.
- An interest in paint, colour, decorating, DIY or home improvement.
- The ability to work independently while being a supportive team player.
- A willingness to learn, take initiative and get involved.

Previous paint or hardware experience is an advantage, but it’s not essential for the right person. A great attitude, a willingness to learn and a passion for helping customers go a long way!
