As a Heavy Lift Engineer, you'll join a multidisciplinary engineering and project team supporting major offshore decommissioning projects in Australia's Gippsland Basin. Based primarily in the Perth office, you'll work alongside experienced engineers and offshore specialists, developing your technical skills while contributing to real engineering challenges. You'll be involved in engineering calculations, lift plans, rigging arrangements and operational procedures, with guidance and support from experienced engineering teams in Australia and the Netherlands.
The role also offers opportunities to work onboard offshore construction vessels, supporting the execution of the very operations you've helped prepare.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in developing engineering solutions for offshore heavy lifting, installation and decommissioning operations
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, lift plans, rigging arrangements and technical documentation
- Support the development of offshore operational procedures and method statements
- Work closely with experienced engineers, project teams and offshore construction personnel
- Participate in engineering reviews, technical discussions and project preparations
- Support offshore operations onboard Allseas vessels when required
- Take ownership of assigned engineering tasks and progressively develop your technical responsibilities
About you
- A degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural or a related engineering discipline
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A proactive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for learning
- The ability to quickly understand new technical concepts and apply them in practice
- A practical, hands-on approach to engineering challenges
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project priorities and offshore schedules
- Solid communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Willingness to travel and work onboard offshore vessels when required
- Existing Australian working rights are mandatory
- Perth-based candidates are preferred
