Senior Integration Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Integration Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering large-scale, mission-critical technology solutions. This role is responsible for leading system integration activities across complex software and infrastructure environments, ensuring platform components are successfully integrated, tested and deployed in line with program milestones.

You will work closely with software, systems, infrastructure and test teams to identify and resolve integration issues, automate processes, and support the delivery of robust, secure and high-performing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the integration and testing of software releases across systems and subsystems.
- Configure and maintain environments that support integration, testing and acceptance activities.
- Develop and execute integration, regression, interface and validation testing activities.
- Diagnose and resolve technical and functional integration issues across multiple platforms.
- Collaborate with software, systems and infrastructure teams to ensure solutions align with design requirements and technical specifications.
- Produce and maintain integration test plans, documentation and engineering artefacts.
- Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline operational and administration activities.
- Implement and utilise monitoring, performance and diagnostic tools to assess system health and performance.
- Identify integration risks early and work with project stakeholders to implement mitigation strategies.




- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
- Contribute to planning, scheduling and coordination of integration activities across project teams.
- Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the engineering function.

Skills & Experience

Essential

- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Systems Integration, Integration Engineering or similar role.
- Proven experience integrating complex, software-centric or real-time systems.

Solid experience with:

- Linux/UNIX operating systems
- Windows Server environments
- VMware virtualisation platforms
- Python, Shell and XML scripting
- Ansible and Jenkins
- Git (Bitbucket) and Jira
- Active Directory, LDAP and PKI
- TCP/IP, UDP and SNMP networking protocols
- Wireshark or similar troubleshooting tools
- Infrastructure monitoring tools such as Zabbix
- Experience producing integration and test documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
- Eligible to obtain Australian Government security clearance.

Desirable

- Java development experience.
- Experience supporting software deployments and site integration activities.
- Knowledge of distributed systems and network configuration.
- Experience working on large-scale, highly integrated engineering or technology projects.
- Defence, aerospace, transport, critical infrastructure or other safety-critical industry experience.
