You'll be working closely with partners on a broad range of commercial disputes. You'll have responsibility for managing your own files, developing litigation strategies, dealing directly with clients, briefing counsel and conducting negotiations and mediations.
Key responsibilities
- Work on complex contractual and commercial disputes
- Handle shareholder, director and partnership disputes
- Manage Corporations Act disputes and breaches of directors' duties
- Work on insolvency and restructuring-related litigation
- Handle commercial property and finance disputes
- Manage injunctions, debt recovery and enforcement proceedings
- Manage your own files independently
- Develop litigation strategies
- Deal directly with clients
- Brief counsel and conduct negotiations and mediations
About you
- At least 6 years' post-admission experience, with a strong background in commercial litigation
- The ability to run litigation matters independently
- Strong drafting, advocacy, negotiation and client management skills
- Good commercial judgement and a practical approach to resolving disputes
- The confidence and ambition to take on greater responsibility as the firm grows
