At Wagstaff Finance, we're looking for a capable, detail-oriented Lending Assistant to take ownership of each loan file from document collection through to settlement.

What you'll do

You'll be responsible for managing the loan process from document collection, application preparation through to settlement, including:

- Collecting, reviewing and verifying client documents to ensure applications are complete and accurate.
- Preparation of any relevant application documentation using information and recommendations provided by the broker.
- Lodging applications with lenders and proactively following up to keep assessments progressing.




- Monitoring application milestones, managing outstanding requirements and addressing delays before they become issues.
- Reviewing loan approvals and loan documentation, coordinating with clients, solicitors, lenders and other relevant parties.
- Coordinating settlement requirements and following each file through to completion.
- Acting as the client's primary point of contact throughout the process, providing transparent updates and a positive experience.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and make the lending journey more efficient.

About you You're organised, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of multiple loan files at different stages. You communicate confidently, follow through on commitments and understand the importance of getting the details right.

Ideally, you'll bring:

- At least one year experience in mortgage broking support, lending operations or lender processing (or similar finance role).
- Practical experience managing applications from document collection through to settlement, or closely related end-to-end lending experience.
- A sound understanding of lending application processes; including reviewing loan documentation, loan discharges and settlement coordination.
- Strong attention to detail,



excellent time management and the ability to manage competing priorities without losing sight of important deadlines.
- A warm, confident phone manner and the ability to communicate clearly with clients and other stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, follow-up and keeping applications moving.
- Confidence using cloud-based systems and a willingness to embrace AI-assisted tools and automated workflows.
- Experience with Aggregator Systems, ApplyOnline, Quickli and digital document collection processes will be highly regarded.
