? Join IDSS as a Lifestyle Mentor

Empower Others. Find Your Purpose. Grow With Us.

At IDSS (Integrated Disability Support Services), we know that great support starts with supporting our people first. If you’re looking for a role that offers real flexibility, genuine career progression, and a team that has your back, we want to hear from you.

We’re currently hiring Lifestyle Mentors for two areas:

- Disability Support Worker
- Residential Youth Worker

What IDSS Offers You

We invest in the people who make our work possible. When you join IDSS, you get:
- Competitive pay packages, reflecting the skill and care you bring to the role
- Salary packaging through Eziway, including novated leasing options — increase your take-home pay by reducing taxable income
- Genuine flexibility, with shifts to suit your lifestyle across days, nights, and weekends
- Real career growth, training pathways and support to gain or build on your Cert III/IV in Individual Support
- A supportive, inclusive team culture that values your individual strengths and voice
- Access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), because we care about your wellbeing as much as the people you support
- Ongoing mentorship and supervision, so you’re never navigating complex situations alone

The Roles

Disability Support Worker

SIL / Active Overnight Support Worker

Support individuals with high care needs — including overnight shifts — to live independently, safely, and on their own terms. In this role, you’ll:
- Provide overnight support and respond to needs as they arise, including personal care and manual handling (e.g. hoisting, positioning)
- Assist with medication management,

meal preparation, and daily household routines
- Support participants to build independence and confidence in their own home
- Work as part of a rostered team to ensure consistent, high-quality overnight care

Ideal for: support workers who are calm under pressure, confident working independently overnight, and experienced (or keen to build experience) in high-support and complex-care settings.

Community Access Support

Help participants engage with their community and the services that matter to them. In this role, you’ll:

- Support participants to navigate systems including NDIS plans, housing, mental health, and community services
- Provide practical assistance such as referrals, outreach, and transport coordination to appointments and activities
- Advocate alongside participants for fair and equitable access to support networks
- Build participants’ capacity for self-advocacy, confidence, and long-term independence
- Support social inclusion — helping participants connect, engage, and thrive in their community

Ideal for: support workers who enjoy being out in the community, are confident liaising with services and agencies, and are passionate about capacity-building rather than just day-to-day tasks.

Residential Youth Worker

Support children and young people in out-of-home care and Child Safety placements, helping create stable, nurturing, trauma-informed homes. In this role, you’ll:

- Provide overnight and sleepover support, responding calmly to needs as they arise
- Deliver trauma-informed, person-centred care tailored to each young person’s development and wellbeing
- Support young people who may present with complex needs, including ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), language disorders, and reactive attachment disorder
- Assist with daily living routines, meal preparation, hygiene, and medication administration and recording
- Use communication supports such as audio devices, pictorial aids, and PODD communication books where needed
- Maintain accurate case notes and records in line with Child Safety requirements

Ideal for: youth workers who are calm and consistent under pressure, confident supporting young people overnight, and experienced (or eager to build experience) in trauma-informed, complex-needs care.

What You’ll Bring

Required:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Blue Card (or willingness to obtain)
- Current driver’s licence

Preferred (not essential):

- Cert III/IV in Individual Support (Disability)
- Cert IV in Youth Work
- A reliable, insured vehicle
- High-level support experience (e.g. hoisting, bowel care)
- Comfortable using apps and digital rostering/care tools
