About the role

We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Support Officer to support the day-to-day maintenance of our remote roadhouse operation. This is a practical, varied role suited to someone who is mechanically minded, enjoys problem-solving and can confidently work across general building, accommodation, grounds, and equipment maintenance.

Key responsibilities

- General repairs and preventative maintenance across the roadhouse, motel accommodation, staff accommodation, and surrounding facilities.
- Assist with maintenance and basic fault finding of generators, pumps, refrigeration, and other site equipment.
- Carry out routine inspections and identify maintenance issues before they become major repairs.
- Grounds maintenance, rubbish removal, and general upkeep of external areas.
- Coordinate with external contractors and trades where specialist or licensed work is required.




- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues affecting customers, staff, or site operations.
- Complete maintenance records and report outstanding issues to the Site Manager.

About you

- Has previous experience in general maintenance, handyman, trade assistant, or similar work.
- Is mechanically minded with strong practical problem-solving skills.
- Can work independently as well as team environment and can prioritise jobs without constant supervision.
- Is comfortable working in a remote location.
- Takes pride in keeping facilities secure, functional, and well presented.
- Trade qualifications in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry or a related field would be highly regarded but are not essential.
