Position: Maintenance Officer

About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, practical and motivated Maintenance Officer to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining our facilities, ensuring buildings, equipment and grounds are safe, functional and well presented.
This role is ideal for a hands-on person who takes pride in their work, has a keen eye for detail and enjoys keeping facilities in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general repairs and routine maintenance across the facility.
- Perform basic carpentry, painting, plumbing and minor repair tasks within the scope of their skills.
- Maintain outdoor areas and grounds as required.
- Conduct routine inspections and identify maintenance issues or potential safety hazards.
- Respond to maintenance requests and prioritise tasks appropriately.
- Assist with preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and costly repairs.
- Ensure tools, equipment and work areas are maintained in a safe and tidy condition.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and report hazards promptly.
- Liaise with contractors and service providers when specialist work is required.
About You The ideal candidate will have:
- Practical handyman skills and experience in general maintenance.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.
- Good organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- A reliable, flexible and professional attitude.
A relevant trade qualification or maintenance experience would be highly regarded. A current driver's licence and relevant background checks may be required.
