Mechanical Project Engineer | Data Centres & Healthcare

Sydney

$160,000 Plus Super and Car

I'm working with a leading national Tier 1 mechanical contractor who are looking to bring good Mechanical Project Engineers into their growing Sydney team.

The business has a major presence across the data centre and healthcare sectors, delivering some of Australia's largest and most technically challenging mechanical projects.

They're looking for engineers who are keen to learn, develop and build a long-term career within the major projects space.

For me, the biggest selling point is the chance to develop. You'll be surrounded by experienced Project Managers, Senior Engineers and Site Managers, with the support and resources of a national Tier 1 contractor behind you.

The Role

As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you'll be working alongside experienced delivery teams, helping coordinate and deliver major mechanical packages across data centre and healthcare projects.

You'll be involved in the technical and operational side of projects, gaining valuable experience across design coordination, procurement, construction and commissioning.

Responsibilities

- Supporting Project Managers with the delivery of mechanical/HVAC packages
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
- Managing procurement, technical documentation and project schedules
- Working closely with builders, consultants and design teams
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical requirements
- Supporting quality assurance, testing and commissioning activities
- Assisting with project reporting, cost control and programme management
- Identifying and resolving technical and site-related challenges

Who im looking for.

They're not necessarily looking for someone who has already delivered major data centre or hospital projects.

If you've built a good foundation within mechanical contracting and are keen to step into larger, more technically challenging projects, they'd be very interested in speaking with you.

Ideally, you will have

- Experience working as a Mechanical Project Engineer within the HVAC industry
- A background with a mechanical contractor
- Exposure to commercial, healthcare, data centre or infrastructure projects
- Good technical knowledge of mechanical building services
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- A willingness to learn from experienced senior people
- A genuine interest in progressing your career within major projects

Previous data centre or healthcare experience would be advantageous, but isn't essential. Why Join This Business?

One thing that really stands out about this contractor is the support and development they provide their people.

They're a genuine national Tier 1 business with strong in-house engineering capabilities, experienced senior teams and a significant pipeline of major projects.

You'll be joining a business where people are given the opportunity to learn, take on more responsibility and progress through the ranks.

For Engineers currently working on smaller commercial projects who want to get their foot in the door with a Tier 1 contractor, this could be a particularly good career move.

Equally, if you're already working on major projects and want to continue developing within the data centre or healthcare sectors, it's worth a conversation.

All applications and conversations will be treated in the strictest confidence.
