About the role

This reputable Medical Centre is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our team in Werribee, VIC. This is a full time position that plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the clinical operations of our general practice. As a Practice Nurse, you will be at the forefront of patient interactions, providing essential nursing care, health education, and clinical support to patients across a diverse range of ages and health conditions.

This position is integral to the smooth functioning of our medical centre and directly contributes to improving patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

- Providing direct patient care including wound management, dressing changes, and infection control protocols
- Administering vaccinations and immunisations in accordance with national immunisation schedules both at the clinic and nursing homes .
- Taking patient vital signs and recording comprehensive clinical observations
- Assisting general practitioners with clinical procedures and examinations
- Conducting health screenings and preventive health assessments for patients of all ages
- Providing patient education on health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management
- Managing patient flow and ensuring efficient clinic operations
- Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records and documentation
- Ensuring compliance with infection control, health and safety regulations, and privacy legislation
- Supporting the delivery of care plans and follow-up procedures

What we're looking for

- Current registration with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) as an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse
- Current National Police check and Working with children certificate .
- Current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Experience with IV cannulation to assist with iron infusions
- Demonstrated experience working in a general practice .




- Strong clinical knowledge and competency in routine nursing procedures and immunisation administration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask and prioritise workload in a busy clinical environment
- Knowledge of current health and safety regulations, infection control standards, and patient privacy requirements
- A caring, patient-centred approach with a commitment to quality healthcare delivery
- Team collaboration skills and the ability to work cooperatively with general practitioners and administrative staff
- Proficiency with medical practice management software(Best Practice) and electronic health records systems
