Orbis Constructions is an established Melbourne builder specialising in architectural homes, renovations and extensions.

We focus on a select number of substantial projects at any one time, giving our team continuity on site and the opportunity to work across multiple stages of a build—not be moved constantly between small jobs and call-outs.

Our projects are located across Melbourne’s inner and eastern suburbs.

We are looking for an experienced qualified carpenter to join our team in a full-time, permanent position.

The role

You will undertake varied carpentry work across:

- Frame, lock-up and fix
- External cladding and architectural detailing
- Window and door installation
- Internal finishing, hardware and fit-off
- Renovations, alterations and remedial work
- Reading architectural and structural drawings
- Working alongside and supporting apprentices
- Collaborating with our construction managers, trades and project team

About you

You will need

- Certificate III in Carpentry
- At least three years’ experience following completion of your trade qualification
- Strong architectural or quality residential experience
- Broad experience across frame, lock-up, fix and cladding
- The ability to read and interpret plans
- Strong workmanship and attention to detail




- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- The capacity to support apprentices and take direction from management
- Clear communication, reliability and a professional approach
- Current White Card and Australian driver’s licence
- Suitable trade vehicle and standard carpentry tools
- Full Australian working rights

What we offer

- Full time, permanent employment
- $48–$55 per hour total package, depending on experience and capability
- Base rate of approximately $42–$48 per hour
- 12% superannuation and 2.7% LeavePlus contributions
- Paid leave and other permanent employee entitlements
