Code is shipping faster than anyone can test it. A big launch is coming, and the team needs someone to close the gap.

A fast growing company on the Gold Coast needs a QA engineer. You’d work directly on their most important projects and play a big part in getting the launch over the line. Attitude and aptitude matter more to them than years on a resume.

The company A scale up built on a data set few competitors can match, in an industry that’s moving fast toward automation. They’re expanding internationally. A new product launches in mid January, and helping get it over the line is your first big job.

The culture and team

It’s a close knit team that works hard and gets on well. People spend time together outside work too, whether that’s a run, a ride, a few drinks or a weekend on the coast. It’s a friendly, happy place to work, and current people get brought into the fold quickly.

You’d sit alongside one other tester and a team of engineers who ship often. Your job is to keep that pace safe. Write and look after the automated tests, keep them reliable in the pipeline, and catch the problems that matter before customers do.

In practice:

- Build and maintain Playwright end to end tests for a React web app
- Run them through CI/CD and keep them stable while code ships quickly
- Use AI extensively to generate, manage and run tests. It’s used across the whole team
- Test APIs (REST and GraphQL), integrations,



data and regression
- Log defects clearly and help decide what gets fixed first
- Pick up manual and exploratory testing where automation doesn’t reach

What you’ll bring

You’re likely a QA tester with three to five years’ experience, looking to keep building your career. You want to work around smart, driven people you can learn from, and you bring experience from the startup or scale up world.

Hands on experience with automated end to end testing for web apps, ideally in Playwright.

- Tests you’ve run through CI/CD and kept reliable
- Comfort using AI tools like Claude in your testing
- Solid fundamentals across API, integration, data and regression testing
- Clear communication with engineers, and you work well alongside another tester
- A bias for getting things done
- GraphQL, data analysis and agile delivery are a bonus. If you haven’t done every part of this, still apply.

If you’re after a role setting up test frameworks or leading a test team, this one won’t be the fit.
