Established in 2008, Border Bikes is a proud, family-run independent bicycle store in Tweed Heads South. Over nearly two decades, we have built a highly loyal customer base by delivering first-class service and expert advice. We are a recognized leader in electric bicycles—specializing in CRUZR, FATBOY, FATFISH, REVER, and AMPD BROS models—while stocking a comprehensive range of traditional mountain bikes, BMX, and road bikes.
We operate a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, and we pride ourselves on the quality of care we give to every customer who walks through our doors.
The Role
We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and hardworking Sales Assistant to join our small, dedicated team. This is a full-time position operating Monday to Friday. While there is currently no weekend work required, flexibility to assist on weekends may be needed during peak business periods or to cover staff leave. This is a hands-on role in a very busy shop.
You will be expected to work independently, manage your time diligently, and take genuine pride in the presentation of the store and the quality of your service.

Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to provide high-quality sales assistance and tailored advice across our e-bike and traditional bike ranges
- Manage point-of-sale transactions and maintain an organized, welcoming retail floor
- Work efficiently during peak periods to ensurecustomerneeds are met promptly
- Assist with basic bicycle maintenance, adjustments, or quick repairs as required
What We Are Looking For
- Prior retail sales experience is highly regarded to help you hit the ground running
- A mechanically minded individual with basic knowledge of bicycle repairs, or someone who is a sharp learner and picks up mechanical tasks quickly
- The ability to work flat out during high-volume periods while maintaining a positive, professional attitude
- A self-starter who works well independently but values being part of a small family business
