About the Role
The UI / UX Designer will play a key role in helping to develop complex user-centric solutions that directly complement the technical back-ends of the solutions. BHP traditionally deals with dense, difficult software that is a challenge for users to naturally understand – the UI / UX Designer will be critical in changing this experience.
The fun parts of the role include:
• Design and deliver elegant and delightful product experiences as part of a cross-functional digital team
• Interview users to gain an understanding of their needs, behaviours and perceptions
• Articulate proposed design requirements, visuals and key decisions with Product Owners and customers
• Define the visual style and position relative to design guidelines and our design system
• Produce and review wireframes and storyboards for digital solutions when necessary
• Build prototypes and design tests to validate designs based on customer needs, requirements and behaviours
• Tracks user experience metrics and reports on the success of UX improvements
• Collaborate with other designers in the team to deliver consistent results
• Work with developers to share understanding of the designs and review work for quality control and adherence to the design
• Work to implement best practice across Data & Digital to improve development velocity




• Document requirements and present findings
Must Have Skills:
5 – 10 + years of UI/UX Design & High-Fidelity Prototyping (wireframes, mockups, design specifications)

User Research & Usability Testing (interviews, questionnaires, user validation)

Figma & Design Tools Expertise (Figma preferred; Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.)

Agile Scrum Product Development (working within quick-paced delivery environments)

Stakeholder Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration (customers, product teams, and developers)
Minimum Years of Experience 5
Nice to Have Skills:
