Upside Down Therapy Pty Ltd – Brisbane QLD
Clinical Lead – Paediatric Occupational Therapist
Full-time | Brisbane Northside $100,000–$115,000 base salary + super + $2,000 annual PD allowance
Love working with kids and helping other OTs grow?
We’re looking for an experienced paediatric OT who enjoys sharing knowledge, strengthening clinical reasoning and bringing out the best in other clinicians.
You might already be a Clinical Lead, or an experienced paediatric OT with a strong supervision background, ready for your next step. You’ll bring strong clinical skills, an approachable style and the confidence to support experienced therapists as well as new graduates.
About Us
Upside Down Therapy is a family-owned, values-driven paediatric OT practice on Brisbane’s northside. Purposeful play, meaningful connections and a commitment to clinical excellence guide how we support children and families to participate in everyday life.
Our purpose-built 400sqm clinic includes seven sensory gyms, a flying fox, foam pit and climbing walls, alongside dedicated spaces for planning and collaboration.
We’re neurodiversity-affirming, family-centred and serious about thoughtful therapy - with plenty of room for fun.
The Role
In this full time role, you’ll work alongside our Director, Practice Manager and Team Leader to lead clinical supervision, onboarding, professional development and clinical excellence across our OT team. You’ll also strengthen our community connections and develop opportunities for clinical collaboration.
You’ll balance a paediatric caseload with dedicated time for supervision,
mentoring and clinical leadership, all built into your diary.
Your role will include:
- Supervising and mentoring OTs across experience levels, including experienced clinicians.
- Observing sessions, providing constructive feedback and facilitating shadowing and joint sessions.
- Guiding new starters through clinical onboarding and supported caseload development.
- Planning and leading internal PD, and helping clinicians choose and apply meaningful external learning.
- Developing practical resources and strengthening assessment, intervention and report-writing practices.
- Supporting complex cases and leading improvements in clinical quality.
- Building relationships with schools, early learning services and other health professionals to support coordinated care, shared learning and community partnerships.
- Helping develop and deliver educator training and parent information sessions at daycares and schools, sharing practical strategies that support children’s participation, learning and wellbeing.
Why You’ll Love Working With Us
Time to lead: A balanced caseload and dedicated leadership time planned into your week.
Room to contribute: Work directly with the Director to shape clinical learning, resources and practice.
Support for your growth: A $2,000 annual PD allowance, with supervision arrangements tailored to your experience and goals.
Shared learning: Regular peer learning, team PD and opportunities to collaborate.
Share in our success: A rewards program linked to overall clinic performance, recognising our collective achievements.
Space to play: A purpose-built sensory clinic with equipment and resources to bring your ideas to life.
About You
You’re an experienced paediatric OT who:
- Has strong clinical reasoning and confidence supporting complex presentations.
- Has demonstrated experience supervising and developing clinicians, including experienced OTs.
- Makes learning engaging, practical and fun, turning evidence into useful ideas for clinicians, educators and families.
- Takes team culture seriously and helps create an environment where people feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas and learning together.
- Is proactive and creative, bringing fresh ideas, spotting opportunities for improvement and following through.
- Gives clear, respectful feedback and handles challenging conversations thoughtfully.
- Values neurodiversity-affirming, child-led and family-centred practice.
- Brings warmth and curiosity, with a willingness to keep learning too.
- Enjoys building professional relationships and representing the practice within the community.
You’ll need current AHPRA registration, working rights in Australia and relevant screening clearances. Experience in sensory integration and play-based therapy would be highly valued.
