Job description

St Peter Claver College, Riverview is seeking a passionate Secondary Teacher (Mathematics) to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term maternity leave contract, inspiring and engaging students in Mathematics.

- Location: St Peter Claver College, Riverview
- Contract Date: Commencing January 2027 - Until end of 2027 School Year
- Work hours: 30.00 hours per week
- Salary: $86,601- $124,725 per annum + 12.75% Super (commensurate with experience)
- Status: Full-time Fixed Term (Maternity Leave)

About the chance

St Peter Claver College, Riverview, is seeking a passionate Secondary English Teacher committed to engaging students through rich literacy learning, critical thinking, and meaningful classroom experiences. We're looking for an educator with strong subject expertise, a love of language, and a dedication to contributing positively to our faith‑based school community.

In this position you will be responsible for:

- Creating a nurturing and ordered learning environment that is learner-centred, supportive, cooperative, and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents and practices




- Collaboratively developing and implementing quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy; evaluating their effectiveness; assessing and reporting student progress and learning outcomes; and reporting these to students, parents and the community
- Working collaboratively with the leadership team, teachers and other staff members in contributing to the skilled life of the school and fostering a positive school culture
- Proactively engaging with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
- Establishing positive relationships in the pastoral care of students and supporting their spiritual and moral development
- Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements

- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
