Darwin, NT | Permanent Full-Time An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer to join a well-established engineering team delivering automation, control systems and operational technology projects across the Northern Territory.
Working across critical infrastructure, utilities, resources, defence and industrial sectors, you'll be responsible for delivering innovative automation solutions from concept through to commissioning. This role combines hands-on technical delivery with client engagement, project leadership and the opportunity to mentor developing engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and implement industrial automation and control system solutions.
- Develop, configure and test PLC, SCADA and HMI applications.
- Lead technical aspects of projects from design through to commissioning and handover.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to graduate and junior engineers.
- Prepare engineering documentation, functional specifications and test procedures.
- Support project planning, estimation and delivery activities.
- Undertake troubleshooting, fault finding and system optimisation.
- Engage directly with clients and stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.
- 4 years' experience in the design and development of automated or process control systems.
- Proven experience in electrical design, code development and programming using Rockwell, Siemens and Schneider PLCs.
- Strong experience with HMI and SCADA platforms such as Ignition, Citect or similar technologies.
- Previous experience leading, mentoring and developing Graduate or Junior Engineers.
- Strong troubleshooting, commissioning and problem-solving capability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team.
- Australian Citizenship is essential for Defence projects.
- Current Defence Security Clearance is highly regarded.
