Profectus is seeking multiple experienced Senior Solution Architects to support the delivery of enterprise key management and secrets management capabilities within an Australian Government agency. You will lead the design, integration and assurance of the security architecture for these platforms, including cryptographic key lifecycle management, secret storage and certificate management. The work covers solution design, technology evaluation, integration with enterprise systems and support for accreditation activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the development of end-to-end solution architectures for enterprise key management and secrets management capabilities
- Design secure architectures for cryptographic key lifecycle management, secret storage, certificate management, privileged access integration and automated key rotation
- Produce and maintain solution designs, security models, integration patterns, infrastructure designs, data flows and technical roadmaps
- Conduct architecture assessments, options analyses and technology evaluations, and provide recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Design integration patterns for applications, CI/CD pipelines, container platforms and cloud services to consume secrets securely
- Lead proof-of-concept activities and pilot deployments to validate architectural decisions
- Develop migration strategies from legacy key and credential management approaches to centralised platforms
- Design audit, logging and monitoring capabilities for key usage, access and lifecycle events
- Apply zero-trust principles and defence-in-depth strategies to the protection of cryptographic material
- Provide architectural governance through design reviews, technical review boards and security assessments
- Support accreditation and certification activities, including producing required security documentation
- Mentor implementation team members and junior staff

Required Experience





- At least 10 years leading solution architecture for complex enterprise security, infrastructure, cloud or cyber security programs
- Designing and integrating enterprise key management, secrets management, identity and access management, PKI or cryptographic security solutions
- Robust understanding of enterprise architecture methods, security architecture models and system integration in large-scale ICT environments
- Designing secure solutions across on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments, including high availability, resilience and disaster recovery
- Designing solutions that comply with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Information Security Manual (ISM)
- Influencing senior executives, governance boards and technical teams
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience

Desirable Experience

- Implementing or supporting Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), vault technologies, certificate management systems or secret management platforms
- Knowledge of cryptographic standards and key management guidance, including NIST, the ISM and Essential Eight
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure Key Vault, HashiCorp Vault or CyberArk
- Secure systems engineering, threat modelling, security accreditation and architecture assurance
- Delivering security architecture for Defence or national security programs
- Contributing to key management policies, procedures and operational playbooks

- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Must have a TSPV Security Clearance
