Airlie Airport Bus is a local business that has provided airport transfers in the Whitsundays for over 10 years, with our own desk in the Arrivals Hall at Whitsunday Coast Airport. We meet every Jetstar and Virgin Australia flight, providing door-to-door shuttle and private transfers to Airlie Beach, Cannonvale, Jubilee Pocket and surrounds.
We've had our busiest season yet, and with the peak season coming, we're adding casual drivers to our team.
The role
Shifts are rostered to the flight schedule and mainly start in Cannonvale, so this role best suits someone living in Cannonvale, Airlie Beach, Jubilee Pocket or Proserpine. This is a hands-on role covering driving, the airport desk and keeping vehicles presentable. For many visitors, you're the first person they meet in the Whitsundays.
Positions available:
- Casual, 15–25 hours per week
- Casual, 25–30 hours per week
Duties and responsibilities:
- Safely transport passengers between Whitsunday Coast Airport and their accommodation
- Check in passengers, sell tickets and take payments at the airport desk
- Use our online booking and check-in systems on a phone or tablet
- Provide friendly,
qualified customer service
- Keep vehicles clean and presentable between runs
About you
- Current LR licence (or higher) – essential
- Driver Authorisation (General), or willing to obtain one before starting
- Clean driving record
- Good English for communicating with passengers
- Confident with computers, smartphones and apps (we run everything online)
- Reliable, punctual and well presented
- Long-term applicants preferred
Pay and conditions
- Award rates: weekdays $36.94/hr, Saturdays $51.71/hr, Sundays $66.49/hr, public holidays $81.26/hr
- Paid fortnightly
- Minimum 3-hour shifts
- Weekend and public holiday shifts optional
- Vehicles: Toyota HiAce, Toyota Coaster and Mitsubishi Rosa
About the Driver Authorisation
A Driver Authorisation (General) is required to drive our vehicles. There is no fee to apply. First-time applicants need a criminal history check and a medical assessment.
