Cleaners Gallery Australia Pty Ltd is a Melbourne-based supplier of professional cleaning products, chemicals, equipment, machinery and consumables. We supply both retail customers and commercial businesses, providing quality products and reliable customer service.

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Shop Assistant to join our team at our South Melbourne store.

About the Role

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys customer service, retail operations and working with cleaning products and equipment. You will assist customers with their purchases, maintain the presentation of the store, manage stock and support the day-to-day operations of the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service.
- Assist customers in selecting suitable cleaning products, chemicals, equipment and accessories.
- Provide basic product information and answer customer enquiries.
- Process sales, payments and customer orders accurately.
- Receive deliveries, unpack stock, replenish shelves and organise products.
- Maintain store cleanliness, product displays and overall presentation.
- Monitor stock levels and report low-stock items.
- Assist with stocktakes and inventory management.
- Handle customer enquiries by phone, email and in person.
- Assist with order preparation, packing and other general shop duties.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures,



particularly when handling cleaning chemicals.
- Work collaboratively with the warehouse and management team to ensure smooth daily operations.

About You The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in retail, customer service or a trade counter environment.
- Experience selling cleaning products, chemicals or cleaning equipment (highly regarded).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A friendly, professional and customer-focused attitude.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn sales and inventory systems.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A reliable, punctual and proactive approach to work.
- The ability to undertake physical duties, including lifting and moving stock, where required and safe.
