A specialist Australian defence technology business is looking for multiple mid-senior level engineers to join its team on a defence program. The role is hands-on and varied, spanning software development, build and release, and test and lab support. You'll work in a fully on-prem environment, report to a Project Lead and work alongside engineers across the program.
Highlights:
- Location: Melbourne, CBD
- Length: 12-month contract (possibility of extension)
- Security Clearance: NV1 clearance is strongly preferred, however, will consider Australian Citizens willing to obtain security clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain C++ software in a Linux environment
- Build and look after on-prem Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
- Automate GUI testing with Squish for Qt-based applications
- Set up and run test labs and test environments
- Support test management, planning and reporting
- Take part in code reviews and resolve defects
- Keep task estimates up to date and flag slippage early
- Suggest improvements to build, test and delivery tooling
Skills & Experience
- Current, hands-on C++ development skills in a Linux workplace
- Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline delivery
- Comfortable moving between development, test and infrastructure work
- Able to work independently and to an agreed schedule
- Qt and Squish experience highly regarded
- Degree in computer science, engineering or similar, or equivalent work experience
