Your opportunityThe Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service provides comprehensive and compassionate care to address mental health care needs for clients and their families/carers living in South West communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The Service collaborates with many other integral organisations in the complex care delivery to clients, utilises and encourages innovation, quality and research to obtain optimal person-centred goals of care.
The role of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advanced Health Worker will function within the interprofessional team to enhance the delivery of respectful and culturally appropriate care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living with a mental health illness, as well as their carers and families. Care extends to the family's local community, kinship system and to primary care teams Additionally, the role functions at a service level to lead service improvement, cross-cultural education, sharing of knowledge and mentorship to strengthen delivery of culturally responsive, holistic and well-coordinated care to meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people, their families and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
