About the role A full-time manager role at a respected core surf store.
The role will suit someone who is looking to take ownership of the day-to-day running of the store including customer service, merchandising, ordering, stock processing and leading a team of young, motivated staff alongside an established management team. Experience in the surf industry is definitely an advantage when applying for the role.
The successful applicant will work Monday to Friday in the store (or Tuesday to Saturday, your choice) right in front of the waves at Scarborough Beach. They will have a large hand in deciding which apparel, boards and hardware are stocked.
Key responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operation with a robust presence on the shop floor
- Manage and develop casual staff
- Deliver excellent customer service to local surfers, families and tourists
- Manage orders and stock levels/offering in store
- Manage visual merchandising and presentation standards in store
- Make sure we continue to offer the best boards, hardware and apparel available
About you
- Passion and understanding of surf culture and equipment
- Strong sales, retail and/or surf industry background
- Strong work ethic and organisation – take pride in what we do
- Positive attitude, creative mindset and willingness to work with a close team
- Strong decision-making skills and independence when required
- Confidence delivering feedback and communicating effectively at all levels
