Job Description Job DescriptionAt Munro Footwear Group (MFG), we're looking for a General Accountant to join our Finance team and play an important role in delivering accurate financial reporting and maintaining strong accounting practices across the business.Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role will see you working closely with business stakeholders to prepare financial statements, maintain accurate records and ensure our financial reporting and accounting processes meet relevant compliance requirements.This is an exciting opportunity for a agile accountant professional who values accuracy, takes ownership of financial reporting and enjoys improving internal procedures and reporting processes!Please note: This is a Full-time hybrid role, working 4 days in the office (including Mondays & Fridays), 1 day from home. The salary range is $80,000 - $90,000 plus superannuation.The roleEnsure an accurate and timely month-end close through processing of month-end entries in the General Ledger.Monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.Establish and maintain effective internal controls within the financial accounting function, including identifying and mitigating financial risks, applying best practices and ensuring compliance with internal policy and proceduresPreparing year-end calculations as part of statutory requirements,



including liaising with external auditors and attending to relevant audit requestsReviewing and analysing month-end close and other financial reporting and providing commentary on significant movements versus budget and prior year resultsInvolvement and support with business transformation projects as Finance Representative, to provide input on financial impact of new business processes implemented.Contribute to improvements in accounting systems, procedures and reporting processesWork collaboratively across the wider Finance team to continually improve service deliveryAbout you3–5 years' relevant accounting experienceTertiary qualification in accounting and CA or CPA qualificationStrong financial accounting experience, including month-end close, general ledger reconciliations and financial statementsGood working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and statutory reporting requirementsAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with accounting or ERP systemsStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilityA high level of accuracy and attention to detailStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsA proactive, organised approach and the ability to manage competing prioritiesExperience within retail, FMCG or another multi-site environment will be highly regardedAbout usWith more than 250+ stores and 2200+ employees nationally, we are Australia's leading retailer and wholesaler of fashion and comfort footwear, owning and operating some of Australia's most iconic brands, including Bobux, The Trybe, Midas, mollini, Mathers, Williams, diana ferrari, and Australia's largest online footwear retailer, Styletread!This is a great opportunity for an experienced accountant who enjoys building reliable financial foundations, working with stakeholders across a business and improving accounting processes.
