About the Role

Taste of Italy Whitford Pty Ltd is looking for a qualified and experienced Accountant to join our business in Hillarys, Western Australia.

We are seeking someone who can take responsibility for our financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, while working closely with management to support the day-to-day financial operations and longer-term planning of the business.

The successful applicant will have sound accounting knowledge, solid analytical skills and the ability to provide practical financial advice in a busy hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including profit and loss reports, balance sheets and cash flow statements.
- Review and analyse business income, expenses, operating costs and financial performance.
- Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts and management reports to support business planning.
- Monitor key financial indicators, including revenue, cost of goods sold, labour costs, gross margins and overall profitability.
- Conduct budget variance analysis and provide recommendations to management on areas requiring improvement.
- Analyse food costs, supplier pricing, menu profitability and other operating expenses to assist with commercial decisions.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor the financial position and working capital requirements of the business.
- Maintain accurate financial records and review accounting processes and internal controls.
- Review financial information recorded in Xero, Lightspeed and other business systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Prepare reconciliations, financial schedules and supporting documentation for BAS, GST, PAYG and company taxation requirements.




- Assist with month-end and year-end reporting, including accruals, provisions and other accounting adjustments.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors and relevant authorities regarding financial and taxation matters.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management to support business performance and future planning.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this position, applicants should have:

- A bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance or a closely related discipline.
- Relevant professional accounting experience, particularly in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Sound knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation requirements and financial reporting practices.
- Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Excel, including financial reporting and data analysis.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Good communication and organisational skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to management.

Experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry will be highly regarded. Familiarity with Lightspeed or similar point-of-sale systems would also be an advantage.

CPA or CA membership, or progress towards a professional accounting qualification, is desirable but not essential.
