Security Officer – Full-Time

Bungalow Security Group (Master License # 000111614) is looking for an experienced Security Officer to join a small, dedicated in-house team supporting a hospitality and late-night venue in Surry Hills.

This is not a traditional “bouncer” role.

We are looking for someone who understands that security is part of the guest experience. You will often be one of the first people guests interact with when they arrive and one of the last people they see when they leave.

We expect our security team to be professional, polished, calm, welcoming and highly service focused, while still being confident and decisive when a situation requires intervention.

The Role

You will work as part of a small security team responsible for:

- Welcoming guests and maintaining a professional presence at entry
- ID checks and entry management
- Monitoring patron behaviour and venue safety
- Crowd control and capacity management
- Supporting RSA and responsible patron-management requirements
- Managing difficult situations calmly and professionally
- Using communication and de-escalation before physical intervention wherever possible
- Assisting guests with general enquiries where appropriate
- Working closely with venue management and hospitality staff
- Responding to incidents, medical situations and other operational issues
- Completing accurate incident reports and security documentation
- Supporting safe patron departure and end-of-night dispersal




- Maintaining strong presentation and service standards throughout the shift

What We Are Looking For

You must have:

- Current NSW Class 1A Security Licence
- Current NSW RSA
- Current First Aid certification
- Experience working in licensed venues, hospitality, nightlife, hotels, events or similar environments
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills
- Professional personal presentation
- Good judgement and situational awareness
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Strong customer-service mindset
- Reliability and punctuality
- Ability to work effectively within a small team

The Standard We Expect

We are looking for security officers who understand the difference between controlling a venue and looking after a venue.

The right person should be able to welcome a guest warmly, help someone who needs assistance, communicate confidently with venue staff and also handle intoxication, aggression or unsafe behaviour professionally when required.

We are not looking for an aggressive or confrontational style of security.

Wednesday to Sunday
7:30pm–3:30am

This is a full-time position within a consistent in-house security team.

Pay: $85,000.00 per year
