Raes on Wategos is a luxury boutique hotel and resort nestled in the stunning Byron Bay,

offering a unique blend of beachfront elegance, refined design and personalised guest

experiences. With beautifully appointed suites, exceptional facilities and a strong reputation

for world-class service, Raes provides an intimate and sophisticated coastal retreat. We are

currently looking for a highly competent Commercial Housekeeper to uphold the

exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation and attention to detail expected across

our guest rooms, suites and shared areas, helping to create a seamless and memorable stay

for every guest.

Key responsibilities & duties:

- Clean and prepare premium guest rooms, suites and penthouses to the presentation and hygiene standards expected across Raes Hotel and Guesthouses.
- Make beds, replace linen and towels, and arrange bedroom furnishings and guest amenities to ensure rooms are ready for arriving and staying guests.
- Clean and sanitise bathrooms, including showers, baths, toilets, basins, mirrors, marble, tiled surfaces and bathroom fixtures.
- Vacuum carpets and rugs, sweep and mop flooring, and carefully clean and polish surfaces throughout accommodation and common guest areas.
- Dust and maintain furniture, decorative pieces, fittings and other room features, taking particular care around specialty furnishings, antiques and premium interior finishes.
- Clean and maintain private balconies, outdoor seating areas and other guest-accessible spaces associated with rooms and suites where required.
- Replenish toiletries, towels, linen, drinking glasses and other in-room guest supplies in accordance with established housekeeping procedures.




- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of shared areas within the Hotel and Guesthouses, including internal common areas and spaces surrounding guest accommodation.
- Inspect guest rooms during servicing and promptly report damaged furnishings, faulty equipment, maintenance requirements or missing items to the relevant supervisor.
- Collect used linen and rubbish, maintain housekeeping supplies and equipment, and follow appropriate hygiene, chemical handling and workplace safety procedures.

Qualifications and Work experience:

- Minimum Certificate I or higher in cleaning operations, hospitality or secondary education.
- Relevant work experience in commercial luxury accommodation may substitute requirement of qualification
- Minimum one year of relevant housekeeping experience in a resort, guesthouse, or premium accommodation environment.
- Australian work experience is essential.

Skills and Attributes:

- Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques, and secure handling of cleaning products.
- Ability to maintain a high standard of presentation and attention to detail across guest rooms.
- Consistent efficiency across independent as well as teamwork.
- Methodical room servicing and time management abilities.
- Solid organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Professional communication and guest service skills.
