About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate preferably with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in a fast paced kitchen environment. There is an opportunity within the roll for career progression/promotion if desired for correct candidate. There will be an opportunity for future career progression into a Head chef role for the right candidate.
Job tasks and responsibilities
The job will be a hands on role delivering consistency and the successful candidate will have good time management and communication skills .
The successful candidate will need to be a team player need to demonstrate the following;
- Passionate about food & a good knowledge of local food trends as well as some knowledge of up-to-date Australian/European cuisine
- Ability to assist with menu writing & creation
- Estimating and forecasting food and labour costings and budgets
- Good knowledge of kitchen hygiene & HACCP requirements
- Preparing and cooking food to the standard set by the Head Chef
- Ability to work with a team is essential, team leadership an advantage.
- Hiring and training new kitchen staff alongside the head chef
- Working with front of house management to cater to all types of food dietary requirements
Skills and experience;
- The right candidate would need to have 2 years in a similar role
- Preferably previously worked in a fast paced bar/restaurant service
- Good communication skills
- Hands on role, delivering a consistent and outstanding dining experience
- You will be adept at running a busy service
- You will be creative and contribute to menu ideas
- You will guide and teach junior team members
- You will establish a strong and positive relationship with FOH

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
