The purpose of the Technical Lead - Data Engineering role is to play a critical role in designing, developing and implementing ongoing solutions in the organisational Microsoft Fabric data engineering and reporting workplace.

They provide leadership, technical expertise and direction in the design, development and maintenance of data pipelines and infrastructure to support the data and analytics needs of the organisation. They will work closely with our key Third Parties in ensuring that the Data Warehouse, infrastructure and Analytics environments have accurate and governed data, so the business is equipped with the right data to make the right decision.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Responsible for designing scalable, efficient and reliable data pipelines and systems.
- Working alongside the architecture function to make decisions about choice of technologies, tools and architecture that aligns to the Architecture Strategy.
- Develop data pipelines, workflows, automation and supporting code, while collaborating with IBA's reporting and analytics teams to deliver data solutions.




- Ensure data pipelines and platforms perform optimally through proactive monitoring, performance tuning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate alongside the data and cyber security functions to ensure that data privacy, security and compliance is met within data processing and storage.
- Collaborating with our Third Parties, coordinate and lead troubleshooting activities related to data pipelines, infrastructure, and incidents. Identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
- Keep appropriate documentation, ensuring it is up to date, contributing to knowledge sharing and management of key person risk.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trend in data engineering and analytics to make informed decisions by adopting new tools and practices.
- Oversee data quality and governance practices to ensure data is accurate, consistent, reliable and fit for purpose.
- Other duties as required.
