You'll respond to technical enquiries, assess product suitability, clarify customer requirements and support the Sales team with proposals, tenders and quotations. You'll work with automotive and electrical products, including canopies and trailer-mounted solutions, supporting customers across industries such as fleet, mining, oil and gas.

Based in Melbourne, the role is primarily office-based, with occasional customer and site visits as required. Full training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to build on their existing technical experience and take the next step in their career.

THE ROLE

As the Technical Sales Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

- Acting as the technical link between customers, Sales and Engineering
- Gathering, analysing and validating customer technical requirements
- Responding to technical enquiries and identifying practical solutions
- Supporting the Sales team with proposals, tenders and quotations




- Clearly communicating technical requirements, solutions and limitations to customers
- Providing technical support across automotive and electrical products, including canopies and trailer-mounted solutions
- Collaborating with internal teams to resolve technical queries and ensure customer requirements are met
- Attending occasional customer meetings and site visits when required

THE CANDIDATE

We're interested in hearing from candidates with a hands-on technical background who enjoy problem-solving and working with customers.

You may come from a background such as:

- Automotive Technician or Mechanic
- Auto Electrician
- Electrician
- Dealership or automotive workshop experience
- Another hands-on trade with robust technical knowledge

You'll also bring:
- A sound understanding of automotive, electrical, or mechanical products and systems
- The ability to understand technical requirements and identify practical solutions
- Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with customers
- A methodical, problem-solving approach and attention to detail
- The ability to explain technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- A willingness to learn new products, systems and processes
- An interest in moving away from full-time hands-on work into a more office-based role
