LGC Rail Services is seeking experienced Track Protection Officers (TPOs) to support BHP rail projects across Western Australia.
We’re looking for experienced rail professionals who are safety-focused, reliable and confident working in a rail environment. If you have the required BHP mobilisation, Local Possession Authority (LPA) and Track Occupancy Authority (TOA) accreditations, this could be a great opportunity to join our team.
About the role
As a Track Protection Officer, you will play an important role in supporting secure rail operations and maintaining safe work areas across BHP rail projects. You will work closely with plant operators, supervisors and site teams to ensure rail safety requirements are followed and changing site conditions are managed effectively.
Key responsibilities
- Apply Track Occupancy Authority (TOA) and Local Possession Authority (LPA) procedures and requirements
- Establish, inspect and maintain a safe work zone
- Conduct pre-start inspections on all equipment
- Maintain clear communication with plant operators and supervisors
- Monitor changing site conditions
- Identify and report any site hazards
- Ensure compliance with all BHP health and safety requirements and that all required permits are in place
- Participate in pre-start meetings
About you
- Previous experience as a Track Protection Officer or in a relevant rail environment
- Current Local Possession Authority (LPA) accreditation
- Current Track Occupancy Authority (TOA) accreditation
- Current BHP mobilisation/induction
- Relevant experience working on BHP rail projects
- Strong understanding of rail safety and track protection requirements
- Strong communication and safety awareness
- Ability to work in a FIFO arrangement
