A busy engineering workshop in Archerfield is looking for another Trade Assistant to join its mechanical fitting team. You’ll support the Mechanical Fitters on mining machinery and oil and gas industry equipment, all in a local Brisbane workshop. It’s a outstanding pathway into a trade for someone with good mechanical aptitude who likes getting hands-on.
The pay
- $40 – $45 per hour depending on experience!
- Overtime and penalty rates available!
What you’ll be doing
- Assisting with stripping, cleaning, inspecting and reassembling hydraulic cylinders and mechanical components
- Preparing tools,
materials and components for workshop jobs
- Helping with basic mechanical fitting and assembly under direction
- Operating forklifts to move materials around the workshop
- General workshop cleaning, housekeeping and labouring
What we’re looking for
- Current forklift licence (essential)
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Manual driver’s licence (preferred)
- A reliable, safety-minded team player who’s keen to learn
- Permanent right to work in Australia
