Trainee Revit Draftsperson – Mechanical HVAC Major Defence Project | Canberra | Tier I Mechanical Contractor
The Prospect An opportunity is available for a Trainee Revit Draftsperson to join a leading Tier I mechanical contractor in Canberra, supporting the delivery of a major defence project.
Working alongside an experienced Drafting & Engineering team, you’ll develop your Revit skills while gaining practical exposure to the mechanical construction industry. This role is ideal for someone with a foundation in Revit who wants to build a long-term career in mechanical drafting, BIM and building services.
Whether you’ve gained your Revit experience through TAFE, further education or an initial role in drafting, this is an opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and contribute to a significant project.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Drafting & Engineering team with Revit modelling and drawing production.
- Assist in developing detailed HVAC workshop drawings for construction.
- Learn to interpret mechanical services designs, layouts and technical documentation.
- Assist with coordinating ductwork, pipework, plant and associated mechanical services.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, project teams and site personnel to support project delivery.
- Develop your technical drafting skills with guidance from experienced industry professionals.
About You
- Some experience with Revit, gained through education, training or professional experience.
- A genuine interest in developing a career in mechanical drafting and BIM.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- A relevant qualification in drafting, engineering or building services would be advantageous.
- Any knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems or construction drawings would be beneficial, but is not essential.
- Must be an Australian citizen and willing to undergo the required security clearance process due to the nature of the defence project.
