We desire to see more people come to know Jesus as their King and Saviour. To this end, we are seeking to build the local presence and impact of our church community in our city, through a variety of intentional relational, ministry and missional pathways.

We would like to appoint someone who will have responsibility to inspire, equip and lead our church community in this area.

You will be someone who has a clear and growing Christian character, including:

- A regular practice of personal Bible reading and prayer
- A desire to learn and grow in your theology, ministry, and leadership skills through self-directed learning

- A robust pastoral heart

You will be someone who exhibits or is developing necessary leadership skills, including the ability to:

- Encourage people to pursue the Mission and Vision of the church
- Inspire, build, and nurture ministry teams
- Connect and work with people across generations and cultural backgrounds.
- Self-start, organise and manage your time efficiently
- Communicate clearly and effectively

While advantageous, this role does not require any theological qualification.

Role expectations

As part of the role, your responsibilities will include:

- Pathway ministries - Oversight of Team Leaders and Teams (Mobile Community Pantry, English Classes, Playtime).
- Evangelism - Oversight of our evangelistic course,



with plans to launch a Bible study group for new Christians.
- Mission heat – Leading our church community to grow in awareness, desire, and ability to have Jesus-shaped conversations in the broader community.
- Working in partnership with other Area Leaders to grow our missional intent across our whole church.
- Leading our church to be increasingly accessible to the diversity of people within our city, for the sake of the gospel (including our communication, ministry programs, property, etc.).
- Developing new pathways for connecting with the city of Blacktown and its people.

You will support our ministry team to lead our church in our mission by:

- Being willing to engage in healthy conflict over ideas as a team member.
- Committing to implement and support the decisions of the ministry team.
- Being a humble learner, ready to seek help when needed.

You will be supported by our ministry team in your role through:

- Developing an annual ministry development plan for your personal growth and your areas of ministry responsibility.
- Monthly meeting with the Senior Minister for support and coaching.
- Weekly sharing with the staff team.

It is anticipated that this role will be further shaped around the particular desires and gifts of the suitable candidate, in consideration with those of the existing staff team. (If you're thinking in Working Genius categories, we would benefit most from a person strong in I/G.)

There is a degree of flexibility with regard to work hours.

Note: We are currently advertising for two different roles (Mission & Membership), with the aim to fill one, and shuffle existing staff responsibilities to cover the other. Our priority is finding someone who would thrive within our team while complementing our strengths.
