National Trauma u0026 Crime Scene Cleaning
Beerwah
Trauma Cleaning & Remediation Technician
Casual / On-Call | Brisbane, Sunshine Coast & South East Queensland
$32.31–$42.33 per hour + 31% forensic cleaning allowance
Not your average cleaning job. Not your average career.
One day you're tackling some seriously unpleasant cleaning conditions. Think bodily fluids, decomposition, extreme hoarding and environments most people wouldn't want to step foot in.
The next, you're on the power tools, pulling up contaminated flooring, ripping out damaged fixtures, stripping out affected materials or helping restore a property to a safe condition.
It's part specialist cleaning, part hands-on demolition and remediation, and definitely not your typical 9–5.
At National Trauma and Crime Scene Cleaning (NTCSC), we're looking for practical, reliable and compassionate people to join our growing Queensland team.
You don't need to have worked in forensic cleaning before. We're interested in people who enjoy physical work, aren't afraid to get their hands dirty and take pride in tackling challenging jobs.
Whether you've worked in construction, restoration, trades, healthcare, emergency services or something completely different, you could have exactly the qualities we're looking for.
We'll provide the specialist training. You bring the work ethic, common sense, resilience and willingness to learn.
What does the job actually involve?
There's a lot more to forensic cleaning than mops, buckets and disinfectant.
Our technicians undertake a diverse range of specialist cleaning, decontamination, property strip-outs and remediation work.
Depending on the assignment, you could be:
- Getting stuck into the really unpleasant stuff – cleaning blood, bodily fluids, decomposition, extreme filth, hoarding and heavily contaminated environments.
- Getting on the power tools – lifting flooring, removing contaminated fixtures, dismantling cabinetry and undertaking controlled strip-outs where required.
- Doing hands-on demolition and remediation – removing affected building materials, clearing damaged contents and preparing spaces for restoration.
- Operating specialist equipment – using commercial cleaning machinery, decontamination equipment, HEPA filtration systems and other specialist tools.
- Tackling challenging environments – from residential properties and prisons to commercial facilities and regional locations.
- Managing hazardous materials safely – including sharps, biological waste and contaminated contents.
- Working with people – supporting clients who may be experiencing grief, trauma, illness or other difficult circumstances.
- Getting the job done properly – following safety procedures, documenting your work and leaving sites in the agreed safe condition.
Some days you'll be cleaning. Some days you'll be pulling things apart. Often, you'll be doing a bit of everything. All work is undertaken within your training, competency and authorisation, with appropriate PPE, equipment and safety controls.
If you enjoy practical work, like using tools, don't mind getting dirty and want a job where every day brings something different, this could be right up your alley.
Who are we looking for?
We're not necessarily looking for experienced cleaners.
We're looking for people who are practical, dependable, physically capable and willing to tackle jobs that aren't always glamorous.
You might come from
- Trades, construction or labouring – you enjoy tools, demolition and hands-on work.
- Fire, flood or property restoration – you understand remediation, strip-outs and working in challenging environments.
- Pest control,
industrial or commercial cleaning – you're familiar with unpleasant conditions, equipment and PPE.
- Emergency services, defence or corrections – you're calm under pressure, disciplined and safety-conscious.
- Healthcare, aged care or disability support – you bring compassion, patience and experience working with vulnerable people.
- Property maintenance or landscaping – you're practical, hardworking and accustomed to physically demanding work.
Or perhaps you're simply looking for something completely different. Previous experience with power tools, property maintenance, demolition, restoration or specialist cleaning would be highly regarded, but it's not essential.
We can teach you the technical skills. What we need is someone who shows up, works hard, follows safety procedures and genuinely gives a damn about doing a good job.

Our Queensland depot is located in Beerwah, with an additional operational base in Upper Kedron, Brisbane.
We service clients across Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and greater South East Queensland, with occasional regional and interstate assignments.
NTCSC has ambitious plans to rapidly expand our presence across South East Queensland, and we're looking for motivated people who want to be part of that growth.
We're particularly interested in applicants based in Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas who can reliably travel to our operational bases and assigned job sites.
This is a casual, on-call position, with hours varying according to operational demand.
Our services operate 24/7, meaning assignments may arise during business hours, evenings, overnight, weekends or at short notice.
Hours are not guaranteed, so we're looking for people who understand the nature of casual, on-call work and can reliably attend assignments when they have confirmed their availability.
A realistic look at the work
We believe in being upfront about what this career involves.
This isn't a crime investigation role, and it's certainly not like what you see on television.
Our technicians undertake practical cleaning, decontamination and remediation work after emergency services and other authorities have completed their involvement.
Some assignments involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, decomposition, strong odours, needles, severe property neglect and emotionally distressed clients.
Other assignments involve heavy lifting, using power tools, removing contaminated building materials and physically demanding property strip-outs.
The work can be exhausting, repetitive, unpleasant and unpredictable. You may spend extended periods wearing protective equipment or working in challenging environments.
It requires emotional maturity, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to safety and confidentiality.
Our clients are often experiencing incredibly difficult circumstances. Compassion, discretion and respect are just as key as your practical abilities.
If you're drawn to hands-on work, enjoy a challenge and find satisfaction in helping others, this could be a rewarding career path.
