About the role

We are seeking an experienced Venue Manager to join our team at Suntourism Group in Cairns, QLD. This is a full-time position based on-site at our venue location.

As Venue

Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operational excellence, financial performance, and guest satisfaction of our venue. You will lead a dedicated team, ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, and drive strategic initiatives to enhance the venue's profitability and reputation. This role is critical to delivering outstanding hospitality experiences and maintaining the highest standards of service and safety across all aspects of venue operations.

Key responsibilities

- Oversee daily operations of the venue, ensuring smooth running of all departments and adherence to operational procedures
- Manage and supervise venue staff, including recruitment, training, performance management, and team development
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, licensing requirements, and company policies
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation throughout the venue
- Deliver exceptional guest service standards and manage customer satisfaction and feedback
- Manage inventory, stock control, and supplier relationships
- Develop and implement strategies to increase venue revenue and market presence
- Create and maintain rosters, scheduling staff to meet operational demands




- Report on venue performance metrics and provide regular updates to senior management

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Venue Manager or similar hospitality management role, preferably within the tourism or hospitality sector
- Strong knowledge of venue operations, including food and beverage service, event management, and customer service
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams effectively
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with guests, staff, and suppliers
- Proficiency with venue management software and point-of-sale systems
- Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement
- Commitment to delivering high-quality guest experiences and maintaining excellent service standards
