About Us

Best Restaurants is Australia's longest-standing hospitality directory and gift card platform, born as the country's first-ever online dining publication in 1996. We're on a mission to make dining accessible, fun, simple, aspirational, sexy, modern, progressive, welcoming, and backed by storytelling.

We're growing our content team, and we're looking for someone with a sharp eye for detail and a creative streak to own the day-to-day management of content on our website.

The Role

This is an entry-level, part-time casual role for someone who takes real pride in getting the details right and making things look great. Some experience managing or editing website content will put you ahead, but it isn't essential if you have the eye, the attention to detail and the drive to learn. There's potential for the role to grow into a full-time position over time as the team and our content needs expand. Your primary job is to own content management on our website: uploading, updating, and maintaining everything that lives on the site. If something needs to go live, be edited, or be fixed, that's you.

You'll make sure every page is accurate, on-brand, error-free, and visually polished before it goes live. You'll also support our Content Lead with writer briefings, quality checks, and day-to-day coordination, but the website is your home base.

What You'll Do

Your core responsibility: owning the website's content

- Upload all content to the website, formatting it correctly and publishing it accurately.
- Manage all ongoing content updates, edits, and changes across the site, keeping everything current and consistent.

- Build and lay out pages using our website editor so they look polished, clean, and engaging: right images, right spacing, right structure.
- Use good editorial judgement on the finishing touches: knowing when to add a callout, pull quote, or highlight box, and when to link through to related articles, restaurants, or gift card pages, so readers keep exploring and every page works harder.
- Act as the go-to owner of content management on the site: if it's on the website, you know about it.

Supporting the Content Lead

- Review content for tone of voice alignment, spelling, grammar, and factual accuracy before flagging to the Content Lead.
- Help brief freelance writers and keep content moving through the pipeline.
- Liaise directly with writers on status, edits, and turnaround.
- Flag content issues, inconsistencies, or risks early.
- Help keep our content library and site organised and easy to navigate.

What We're Looking For

- Excellent command of the English language: strong spelling, grammar, and punctuation, and a natural feel for transparent, engaging writing.
- Massive attention to detail: you spot typos, inconsistencies, broken links, and things that are slightly off without being asked.
- Comfortable with website editors and content management systems. Previous experience managing,

updating or uploading content on a website (in a role, internship, freelance work or your own projects) is highly regarded. If you pick up new tools quickly, we'll train you on ours.
- A keen creative eye: you care how a page looks and can make it look good through layout, imagery, and spacing.
- Good instincts for how readers move through a page: a sense of when a callout, internal link, or link-through will add value and when it would just be clutter.
- A keen interest in food, dining, hospitality, or digital content, and curiosity about how great online content is made.
- Highly organised and reliable, comfortable managing multiple pieces of content at once.
- Confident communicating with writers and team members, clearly and professionally.
- A good ear for tone of voice: you can tell when something doesn't sound "on brand."
- Available to work flexibly on a part-time, casual basis.

Why Join

You'll be a key part of a small, fast-moving and entrepreneurial team at a brand with real heritage in Australian dining media. It's a great entry point for someone early in their content or editorial career (a recent graduate, a student, or someone looking to break into digital content) to build hands-on experience across website management, content operations, and quality control. We're starting part-time and casual, with the potential for the role to grow into full-time and a bigger remit as the team expands.

Some of our cool perks:

- Birthday leave

- All year round celebrations and dining culture

- 50% off at all our partner restaurants (over 550!)

- Mentorship and training
