Multiquip seeks experienced Poultry Farmer workers for our Tamworth, New South Wales, depot. We're a national company dedicated to serving Australia's poultry industry, from feed transportation to farm operations.
The Role:
The Poultry Farm workers will be responsible for poultry catching and associated farm duties within commercial poultry operations. The primary purpose of the position is to safely, efficiently and humanely catch, handle and load poultry in preparation for transportation from poultry farms to processing facilities or other designated locations
Duties and Responsibilities:
Some tasks may include
- Monitoring and maintaining the health, welfare and condition of poultry that can include providing food and water to maintain poultry condition and health
- Assist with maintaining the health and welfare of poultry by patrolling, inspecting and reporting on their condition
- Catch poultry safely, efficiently and humanely within commercial poultry sheds.
- Handle poultry carefully to minimise unnecessary stress, injury or harm.
- Place and load poultry into approved poultry transport modules, crates or containers.
- Assessing poultry is fit for transport
- Work systematically as part of an organised catching team and follow directions from supervisors and leading hands.
- Assist with positioning, movement and removal of required on farm equipment
- Assist with preparation of poultry sheds and work areas before catching operations commence.
- Identify and report injured, sick or distressed poultry and any animal welfare concerns.
- Follow required poultry density, handling and loading procedures.
- Undertake general poultry farm duties associated with pick up operations, installing fences for penning
Applicant Requirements:
- Be able to work night shifts (Staggered starting times)
- Be able to work 10 - 12 hour shifts
- Be fit and able to do physical lifting of Poultry
- Work well in a busy team environment
- Always maintain PPE Requirements and follow safety procedures
