We are looking for a consistent, reliable and culturally responsive Disability Support Worker to support a participant with an acquired brain injury (ABI) and complex support needs.
Ideal candidate:
- Nuer-speaking ability highly desirable.
- South Sudanese cultural background or strong cultural understanding highly regarded.
- Experience supporting individuals with acquired or traumatic brain injuries and complex needs.
- Excellent communication, patience and rapport-building skills.
- Ability to assist with community access, banking, Centrelink, appointments and connecting with services.
- Experience in capacity building, developing independent living skills and establishing meaningful routines.
- Willingness to take a gradual, person-centred approach to building trust and engagement.
Essential Requirements
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- National Police Clearance.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
- Previous experience in disability or community support.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Skilled, reliable and person-centred approach.
