About the role

Through the Metro Growth Capital Delivery Team, you will lead, support and monitor commissioning activities associated with SA Water's Metro Growth Program.

You will work with Service Delivery partners and key stakeholders to provide specialist operational expertise to manage water network services and network supply assets, ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective delivery of drinking water while maintaining security of supply, water quality and customer outcomes.

This role sits at the intersection of major project delivery and live network operations, making it ideally suited to someone who enjoys solving complex operational challenges and influencing outcomes across multiple stakeholders.

About you

You are a technically capable water industry professional who thrives in operational environments and enjoys working across complex stakeholder groups. You can confidently balance customer outcomes, operational risks and project requirements while making sound decisions under pressure.

Key Accountabilities:

- Lead water network commissioning activities to support the successful delivery of major Metro Growth projects.
- Manage operational readiness and network integration activities, ensuring new assets are safely transitioned into operations.
- Provide technical expertise on water supply operations, hydraulic systems and network performance.
- Identify and manage operational, customer supply and network risks to maintain service reliability.
- Collaborate with contractors, alliance partners and operational teams to ensure continuity of supply and water quality compliance.




- Foster a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with health, safety and drinking water quality management systems.

Your success in this role will come from:

- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong understanding of water or wastewater network operations and water quality management.
- Demonstrated experience within operational, commissioning, infrastructure delivery or capital project environments.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and basic fluid mechanics.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making and conflict resolution capabilities, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of SCADA, operational technology systems and their application within water utility operations.
- Understanding of electricity markets, energy optimisation and experience supporting major commissioning programs and asset transition activities.
