About the Role:
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Tax & Accounting Officer to manage tax compliance, client relationships, practice operations, and contribute to business development efforts. You’ll work with a variety of entities (individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships) and be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, while identifying opportunities to optimize client financial outcomes. Must have experience in CA Firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax & Financial Reporting:
- Prepare tax returns, financial statements, and BAS for various entities.
- Manage ASIC lodgements and corporate records.
Client & Job Management:
- Deliver statements to clients on time and manage ongoing client relationships.
- Maintain 80% billable time, meet deadlines, and ensure client requests are handled promptly.
- Provide guidance to clients on tax reduction and profit maximization.
Practice Management:
- Assign and review tasks for team members, ensuring efficient workflows.
- Assist with debtor follow-ups and support admin team when needed.
- Review and update practice management tools and procedures (e.g., Xero, WFM).
Business Development:
- Identify marketing and service opportunities.
- Participate in client outreach, networking events, and contribute content for promotional materials.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax law and accounting practices.
- Experience with multiple entity types and accounting software (Xero, WFM).
- Excellent client management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- CA/CPA qualification preferred.
