I'm a Gold Coast-based videographer and marketer running my own business, Modus Advertising.

I handle everything from filming and creative direction through to editing and delivery, but as my workload grows, I'm finding I simply don't have enough time to edit everything myself.

I'm looking to connect with another local creative who'd be interested in taking on the editing side of certain projects and building an ongoing working relationship.

The work

Most projects involve 5–15 short-form videos, generally between 15–60 seconds. These are primarily talking-head reels, social media advertisements and video sales letters.

My editing style is quite natural and cinematic. I'm not a fan of hype edits, excessive transitions or constant jump cuts. Most videos might have 10–12 cuts, with some carefully selected B-roll, clean captions and intentional pacing.

I'm much more interested in someone who understands storytelling and knows when to let a shot breathe.

A few significant things:

- DaVinci Resolve is essential. I shoot on Blackmagic equipment, often in BRAW, so experience with Resolve's colour management and Blackmagic workflows is important.
- You need to be based on the Gold Coast. File sizes can be enormous,



and I'd like someone I can meet with to transfer footage directly rather than relying on cloud uploads.
- Strong captioning skills, attention to detail and efficient editing workflows are important.
- Experience with transcription tools, AI-assisted workflows and fast turnarounds would be ideal.

How the partnership works

My standard client contracts typically range from $2,500–$3,000, with roughly 30% ($750–$900) allocated to the editing side, depending on the project.

For larger campaigns, commercial productions or narrative-driven work, we can collaborate on the creative and work out pricing together.

I'm not looking to hire an employee or build a traditional agency structure. I'm looking for another freelancer who enjoys editing, wants consistent opportunities to work on interesting projects and is interested in building a long-term creative partnership.
