About the role

The Learning Support Teacher (0.8 FTE / 4 days per week) works collaboratively with classroom teachers, students, and families to identify, plan, and implement effective learning support strategies. The successful applicant will contribute to the development of inclusive practices and personalised learning programs that enable students to engage meaningfully in all aspects of school life. This part time role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and wellbeing while working four days per week within a supportive Secondary School environment.

Key responsibilities

- Provide targeted support for students with diverse learning needs across Years 7-12
- Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and learning adjustments
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate curriculum and assessment
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records and documentation
- Work closely with families and wellbeing staff to support student outcomes
- Assist in identifying students requiring additional support and intervention
- Support teachers with evidence-based inclusive education practices
- Contribute to transition planning and student case management meetings
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

About you

- Formal teaching qualifications




- Post graduate qualifications in Special Education or Inclusive Education
- Current NESA registration
- Sound knowledge of and experience in NCCD policies and procedures
- A valid Working with Children Check
- Demonstrated knowledge of legislation and practices in regard to students with learning difficulties, disabilities and additional needs
- Demonstrated experience in an inclusive education capacity
- Demonstrated ability to write appropriate and targeted student progress reports
- Demonstrated ability to select and use appropriately, a wide range of teaching and learning strategies and develop and implement Individual Education Plans
- The ability to utilise appropriate technologies to enhance teaching programs
- The ability to work with students individually or in small groups
- Experience in developing classroom management strategies for students with challenging behaviours
