We're looking for a hands-on safety advisor who'd rather be on the factory floor than behind a desk. Australian Pile Cages (APC) manufactures steel reinforcement pile and column cages for Tier 1 contractors across NSW, SA and QLD. We run the largest fully automated pile cage machine in Australia, manufacture to Australian Standards, hold ACRS accreditation and are ISO certified for quality and safety. This is a floor role. You'll be our eyes on safety every day, keep everyone on their toes, and help lift the safety culture across our Blacktown factory as part of the Operations team.

What you'll do
• Daily walkaround inspections: cranes and lifting, forklifts, the cage machine, hot work and welding, PPE and housekeeping
• Stop unsafe work, fix it on the spot and coach the crew
• Run toolbox talks and support morning prestarts
• Report incidents and near misses, assist investigations and chase corrective actions to close-out
• Keep inspection records, registers, SWMS and risk assessments current in SafetyCulture
• Run inductions for new starters, visitors and contractors, and track licences and training What you'll bring:
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety




• 3+ years in a safety role in steel manufacturing, heavy fabrication or similar heavy industry
• Practical knowledge of cranes, forklifts, hot work and manual handling risks
• The confidence to stop a job and keep the crew's respect
• Energy for a rapid-paced floor and a track record of driving change
• Solid with paperwork and digital tools (SafetyCulture or similar, Microsoft 365) Flexible hours, real responsibility: We're open to full-time or part-time, and we welcome parents returning to work. Part-time hours cover the start of the production shift, so you're there for morning prestarts. This role won't suit someone who wants to manage safety from an office, or who sees safety as policing rather than coaching. Interested?
