Valley Helping Hands Support Services
Warwick
Three opportunities for qualified support workers who value connection, consistency and quality care.
$36.22–$72.44 per hour, depending on shift day and time, plus applicable sleepover allowances.
The best support workers know the small things matter. Taking time to understand how someone communicates. Respecting their routines. Knowing when to offer assistance and when to give someone space to do things for themselves.
At Valley Helping Hands Support Services, we value the experience and care that make this possible.
We’re recruiting for three distinct support worker opportunities, each with specific support needs and availability requirements. These roles offer the opportunity to build trusted relationships, provide consistent support and become a familiar part of someone’s everyday life.
If you’re qualified, experienced and looking for a workplace where your contribution matters, we’d love to hear from you.

Permanent part-time | 25–30 hours per week
This role is suited to an experienced worker who takes pride in providing thoughtful, dignified personal care and supporting people with complex physical support needs.
You’ll take time to learn the participant’s preferences and routines, supporting their comfort, choice and involvement in daily life.
The position involves substantial physical assistance,
including transfers and manual handling. You must be confident using prescribed equipment and following individual support plans and safe handling procedures.
You’ll need:
- A Certificate III in Individual Support or a relevant equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated experience supporting people with complex physical support needs.
- Confidence and competence in providing personal care.
- Proven manual handling experience.
- Availability for two sleepovers per week, with varying early starts and late finishes.
- A flexible approach to the required roster.
- Comfort working around animals in the participant’s home.
This position requires an experienced, competent worker and is not suitable for someone new to support work.
2. Autism, Communication & Psychosocial Support
Permanent | 30–38 hours per week
For this role, we’re looking for someone who understands that communication goes well beyond spoken words.
You’ll bring patience, understanding and proven experience supporting participants with autism, non-speaking communication needs, and behavioural and psychosocial support needs.
Your ability to build trust, recognise individual communication cues and provide calm, consistent support will be central to this role. You’ll respect the participant’s choices, follow their support strategies and help create opportunities for participation in everyday life.
You’ll need:
- A relevant qualification and demonstrated experience matching these support needs.
- Proven experience supporting participants with autism, including participants who are non-speaking.
- Experience implementing behaviour support plans and providing psychosocial support.
- Sound judgement, professional boundaries and clear communication.
- The ability to safely manage extended drives as part of the participant’s supports.
You must be available for all of the following:
- Wednesday: 9 am–4 pm
- Thursday:
8 am–6 pm
- Friday: 10 am–6 pm
Availability on additional days is a welcome bonus.
3. Consistent Afternoon, Sleepover & Morning Support
30–38 hours per week
A familiar face and a steady approach can make a real difference to how someone feels at home.
We’re seeking an experienced worker who is patient, dependable and comfortable supporting a participant through afternoon, evening and morning routines.
You’ll bring sound judgement, initiative and a respectful approach to working in someone’s personal space. The ability to build a professional, trusting relationship and provide consistent support is essential.
You must be available for:
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights.
- Shifts starting between 2 pm and 3 pm, finishing between 8 am and 9 am the following morning.
- A passive sleepover period within each shift.
Relevant qualifications and proven support work experience are essential, along with confidence working independently and responding appropriately when support is needed.
What We Look For Across Our Team
We’re looking for people who are reliable, attentive and take their responsibilities seriously - while bringing warmth and personality to their work.
You’ll understand the importance of participant choice, dignity and privacy, and be comfortable completing accurate progress notes, communicating with your team and raising concerns promptly.
You will also need:
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Yellow Card).
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- Current Police Check.
