Iron Mine Contracting (IMC) is seeking an experienced Senior Communications Technician to join our Mt Holland operations on an 8:6 roster.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will provide hands-on technical expertise and leadership across mining equipment GPS, machine control and operational technology systems.
We're looking for someone with proven experience in onboard mining equipment technology, rather than traditional telecommunications infrastructure.
Your Focus in This Role
- Manage the installation, maintenance and commissioning of GPS, machine control and onboard technology systems across mining equipment and light vehicles.
- Monitor GPS accuracy, diagnose faults and coordinate technical support with equipment vendors.
- Provide technical leadership, develop work instructions and deliver training to operational personnel.
- Work closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors and clients to ensure operational and safety standards are achieved.
What You'll Bring
- Proven hands-on experience with GPS, machine control and operational technology systems on mobile mining equipment.
- Experience with Haultrax and Leica systems will be highly regarded.
- Strong fault-finding,
installation and commissioning capabilities.
- Knowledge of industrial networks, wireless and microwave systems.
- Mining operations experience with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or a related engineering discipline will be highly regarded but are not essential.
- Current C Class driver's licence.
